Someone will tell you a custom home takes a year. That is construction, if you are lucky, and it skips the part that actually determines whether you like the house. New Oak Homes builds in Greater Greenville and Spartanburg in seven steps. Construction is step six.

Before the dirt moves

• Vision — one to two weeks. How you live, not a Pinterest board.
• Budget and financing — two to three weeks. The envelope, named out loud, including land or homesite and site work.
• Architectural plan — six to ten weeks. In-house. Floor plans, elevations, 3D, structural, county path.
• Selections — four to six weeks. Against the budget, not after it.
• Homesite — three to six weeks. Soils, drainage, trees, setbacks. We will not fight water with a pretty elevation.

Then we build

Construction is typically nine to fourteen months. Foundation through finishes. Named project manager. Quality holds at foundation, drywall, and punch. You get scheduled walkthroughs. We call you when the field wants to change what was drawn.

You can see that sequence on jobs already up: The Hampton at 119 Beacon Hill Road in Duncan is in paint, cabinets, and tile. The Piedmont at 201 Parris is in mechanicals. That is not a brochure timeline. It is the calendar of a custom home builder who will still be here at punch.
