Redefining Custom

Custom is not reserved for the ultra-wealthy.

We design to the budget. Custom homes from the mid $600s and signature estates well into the millions. Same process. Same principal. The choices change. The standard does not.

The number comes before the rendering

A beautiful drawing of a house you cannot afford is not design. It is a sales tool. We write the budget first — land, structure, finishes, outdoor, soft costs — and then we create your home plan that fits within it.

Trade-offs are named, not hidden

Every custom house is a set of exchanges: more stone or more square footage, a third garage bay or a real office, hardwood or LVP. We put those on the table. That is what Redefining Custom actually means.

Builder and REALTOR® in one principal

Charles Carpenter has spent twenty-five years on both sides of the table. The person designing the deal is the person responsible for the dirt. That is unusual in the Southeast, and it is the point.

In-house architecture, field-tested

Plans are drawn to be built in Greenville and Spartanburg Counties — setbacks, overhangs, soils, humidity, and the way an Upstate homesite actually drains. Pretty and buildable are the same job.

Custom from the mid $600s is not a slogan. It is a discipline.

The same process that produces a $3.5 million signature residence is the process that produces a tightly edited 2,800 square foot home. What changes is the set of choices — not the respect, the schedule, or who answers the phone.
